I have always had a passion for planting and nurturing growing things, especially flowers. I didn’t attempt to recreate nature via art until 1999. On a whim I purchased paints, brushes and canvases and embarked on my career as an ‘artist’.
I became a member of the Oak Bay Community Artists Society. I have subsequently participated in the twice yearly studio tours and Bowker Creek Brush-Up art shows. Together with a fellow artist, I have had two art shows at Goward House Gallery. My style has evolved over the years as I strive to become ‘looser’, with less realism. Flowers continue to be my main focus. My greatest encouragement comes from people telling me that the vibrant colours in my paintings make them happy.
